First let me back track to Sunday. I got this craving for chicken and rice, or as we call it "chicken continental". It turned out yummy and a gorged myself and felt incredibly full ALL night. Well, I was getting ready to go to bed and started to not feel so great. I had taken my beloved Zofran about an hour beforehand so USUALLY at that time I would be feeling pretty good, this was not the case. I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth and I felt like I had something caught in my throat so I coughed and as I did, I literally had seconds to get to the toilet and I began to throw up with power. I think it even came out my nose. And let me just tell you, rice is not kind to a person when it has to come back up. It kept getting stuck in my throat which just made things worse. Ugh. So my vomit session ended and I went to bed worried that I had just wasted one of my last 3 precious Zofrans.
So Monday I wake up and begin trying to call Generations OBGYN to try to get them to get me a refill on my medicine. I didn't wake up until 11am but I figured it shouldn't be hard to fill out a piece of paper. Well turns out the office closes from 11am-12pm for meetings, and then they go to lunch for 12pm-1pm. So I FINALLY get a hold of them at 1pm and I am told all I have to do is have my pharmacy fax a refill request to them and they will give me a refill!! Crisis diverted, or so I thought. So I call the pharmacy and they immediately fax the request over. I take my second to last pill and I wait and wait, finally 1.5 hours later I call the pharmacy to see if they have received my prescription request and they haven't. So I recalled the OBGYN and tell them I just want to make sure they got the request and they transfer me to the triage nurse's voice mail. I was told she checks her messages every 5 minutes, well another hour goes by and I begin freaking out because I have one pill left and the OBGYN closes at 5pm. So I call the office AGAIN and the receptionist tells me it can take up to 48hrs for them to process the refill request. Seriously how hard is it to sign a piece of paper and fax it. She then proceeds to tell me that she will transfer me to the triage nurse for help. I inform her that I have already left the nurse a message a few hours ago and still haven't heard back from anyone. I am pretty much feeling like life is going to suck for the next day or so... BUT about 20 minutes later the nurse calls me and says she just faxed my prescription to my pharmacy and it should be ready in an hour! YAY! Unfortunately a few minutes later the pharmacy calls me and tells me that my insurance will not cover the medicine until the 14th, so if I want the pills that I desperately need I will have to pay $88 for 30 pills!!!! I start crying on the phone because I NEED them, but that is so much money! The poor girl on the other phone says she is going to swipe a discount card and it drops the bill to $35 which is still way more than the $10 I paid for the first bottle of magic pills but definitely worth it so I tell her to fill it up!! CRISIS DIVERTED!!
